Take just 10% of the $250bn we are spending on proving up the economy, so $25bn , and use that to resource and equip and provide amenities for the cohort that are most vulnerable (I.e., the plus 70 year olds).
And then, instead of Stage 4 restrictions applying to everyone for 3 months, apply them to that economically inactive and vulnerable cohort (who are in lockdown now in Victoria anyway). And let the remaining 95% of the population in Victoria continue with their livelihoods.
in other words, a temporary targeted lockdown to protect the vulnerable, without causing death and destruction to the lives of those who are not vulnerable.
