    Before I took a two-engine Virgin Australia
    plane to LAX and back (28 hours over the
    Pacific Ocean) I checked the stress test
    that GE had to put its 777 engines to
    get official approval for two-engine
    long-haul over-water flights:


    That done, I happily boarded a Virgin Australia 777 for LAX:
