It's odd to use such obvious and indirect method....probably stupid as you said.
Just as I pointed out the potential for an ann on last Friday after the 3B, the volume did nothing either.
So whoever supposedly use this method did not seem to profit from it as the SP actually goes down with no volume increase.
So it is a mystery.
