IMHO the skills that SSM bring to the table are likely not widely available from run-of-the-mill construction companies.
A lot of the work tends to be done on an alliance basis, with risk&reward sharing and kpi's for various important variable outcomes like safety, efficiency.
A good integration with customers business is impacted by the duration of the relationship and the day to day rapport and knowledge of the technical aspects of customer business.
Of course some of the best key people may be lured away to a competitor keen to break into the customer's business, but the best employees have skin in the game and stand to lose by moving away from unvested incentive awards they could otherwise forfeit by moving.
I seem to see a lot of SSM and Comdain signed vehicles around and the people in them look well presented and purposeful.
Could be some heavy confirmation bias manifesting here, I know!
