I'm sure there are many other subtle variations on this theme all over the investment world, especially when you throw in left-field events.
However the gist of my statement re. dividends, is that the amount that a company pays out is dividends is 100% independant of the shareprice, which is the main incorrect point that was getting bandied about by some people who should be better informed if they are putting this info into a public forum, and they want to retain some respect.
