Have just been rereading a few of the recent announcements a bit more closely. Random thoughts below on a slow day.
The key purpose of the drilling currently underway in the West Zone is to test both above and below existing hits (which range from around 50m to 200m in depth). This will essentially tell us how close to the surface the mineralisation is (the closer to surface the better for easier mining) and whether the mineralisation continues down below the existing hits to 300m. If both of these conditions are met with similar grades to those seen already, we have a much bigger inferred mineral deposit with a greater level of certainty. Given we are testing shallow extensions to the mineralisation, if there is visible copper, the drillers should see it anytime soon.
The company will also be drilling in the East Zone, where the copper grades were a bit higher on average than the West Zone. Confirmation that these grades continue or get better as the drill goes deeper would also be very positive.
We await.
