    Basically they have drilled an expensive water bore...!!

    They thought they had found gas based on the 'gas shows' when drilling
    and the results of the logging. Unfortunately it sounds like they made a mistake
    in the log analysis.

    Basically...... Fresh water can look like oil and gas on well logs ... particularly if
    you think the ground water is salty. This is a fairly basic error but happens quite often
    if you dont know the salinity of the ground water.

    So if you are not sure of the salinity of the ground water..... fresh water can be mistaken
    for hydrocarbons.

    Usually if your still not sure after logging you can run the 'Repeat Formation Tester'
    as they have in Joann#1 and that should be conclusive....if not ...then you test.
    Sometimes you test anyway to get the gas flow rate.

    The other option:

    Which is what they are trying to say at the end is that they drilled in the wrong place.
    They still think they have a gas field in they permit ,,,,, but Moeller is right on the edge and just missed the gas.
