If you think our world leaders can solve this problem than you are quiet the optimist. Good luck with your trades and philosophy. If you believe leaders are more powerful than the market and can fool it, you should go long. If you think that our current leadership, lead by George W Bush, is all inspiring and can change things, then by all means, going long makes plain sense.
Personally, I'll stick with my lessons from history while you stick with your confidence in George W Bush, Ben Bernanke, Hank Paulson, Gordon Brown and Valdimir Putin. How many Bailouts and soothing words has it been now?
