Boards provide strategic direction for the entity. Not each individual shareholders reasoning and aspiration..
Boards don't look at SP day to day but look 1-3-5 years ahead. JG has to front the board to explain why the entity has or has not achieved the strategic goals. Does the shareholder play into thinking? Of course. That's the duty.
