I have suspected for months that Lonrho plc would not provide more funds and have posted about this on HC . Their % holding of LOM has declined over the last few years so I wasn't surprised that they have not done so recently with the entitlement.
What is of interest is their continuing presence with their current directors on the board and the justification for this. I think it is time for 2 new directors, but who? There are no new significant cornerstone investors if the prospective current top 10 list is accurate. Good to see MK close to a 1% holding however. I still think there will be significant Asian interest in LOM either directly or hidden in nominee accounts. I believe GEM Diamonds (UK) have made some decent profits recently, perhaps MK revisited some if his older contacts from his Kimberley days to see if GEM would take a stake in the entitlement. Perhaps they didn't in the end, Ellendale didn't work out for them!
