No previous qualifications are needed for this course; you will need just basic sewing skills and know how to make a basic, unlined curtain.
This Level 3 Diploma course is fully accredited by AIM Awards. It is flexible and can be studied via part-time distance learning, allowing you to continue with existing work and family commitments, or you may attend our in-studio courses for a ‘fast-track' to the qualification.
This practical Diploma in Professional Curtain Making and Soft Furnishings includes the construction methods for a range of luxury hand-furnished curtains and bespoke soft furnishings. It is ideal for those wishing to tackle individual projects or alternatively for students looking for a career change or to start their own soft furnishings workroom. The diploma covers a wide variety of practical skills and the business knowledge required to start your own business. These include:-

Professional measuring & estimating
Mitres, hand stitching and pattern matching

This course is designed to give students the confidence to progress on to larger and more advanced projects, start their own professional workroom or alternatively, to follow our guaranteed progression route onto a degree in design.
The diploma is fully accredited by AIM Awards and upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded both the Level 3 Diploma in Professional Interior Design and the National Design Academy Professional Diploma in Interior Design. Making this course a nationally validated qualification.
