Well you weren't around the other week when myASX was saying CEO was here in Aus... saying he's gotten confirmation (Which was false) saying Louis is here talking to Foster's.
Big Investors/Traders don't need to be involved to affect the SP... It takes afew mum & dad investors (Retail) to sell and drop a couple pips in fear and then causing stop losses to also sell.
It's happened in many stocks I've witnessed... You have afew big names start sprouting things and people can listen without even looking into detail whether it's true or not.
Some people just invest to think it's easy money and don't research etc.... and read into what others think to much
It has happened to BRN many times including when it at 12c back in the day and everybody was selling because downramping... and Burt&Erine continued to buy which was followed by a rerate announcement and jumped 150%
