Us humans have a predilection for envisaging positive outcomes. However, it could also lean towards the opposite. This pandemic will reap it greatest sorrow among the poor and may relatively strengthen the hard right's political position. I think they are aware of that. Will they let a good crisis go to waste? Not for quids.

Just like the 1920's, I feel the political polarisation will become extreme, moreso than now. Predictions of a more understanding equitable 'utopia' (not saying you said that) may turn out to be a folly.
