We are in the Southern Hemisphere, just coming out of summer. The Northern Hemisphere strategy is not necessarily applicable to us.
The WHO is geared to Northern Hemisphere strategy, so following them may be fraught.
We have a chance to build herd immunity while the whether is still warm and transmission is slow. So we should not be locking people away (except for the oldies)
By locking us away while it still warm we push all the unexposed people in a huge lump into winter, when transmission will increase, and the flu will be upon us, and everyone's immunity gets lower. This is the looming catastrophe for Australia.
This only makes sense if you are blindly, stupidly following a Northern Hemisphere strategy, which is what the bureaucrats are pushing, since they cannot depart from WHO recommendations without a risk of being blamed.
