Agree with you on most of you comments except that the risks associated with the timing of direct charging, which, I believe, are overstated. The RBA are very very keen to see this through, APCA have stated their desired outcome of a single day start being 3/03/09, and I understand that the industry and educational marketing plans relating to the changes by APCA and the various participants to the public are well advanced....due to be presented by the end of November.
Banks are not in a position to bargain any more with time.
