There are quite a few posters on here that won’t be drawn into the debate for fear of offending posters with over bullish views in my opinion. I’d really like to see a mega offer but that’s just not going to materialise unless the SP heads north in a big way prior to any bid, or that the predators encircling UMC, that is if there are more than one, whip themselves into a mad feeding frenzy and over trump one another.


The sad fact of reality is that BHP, RIO and Twiggy are as ruthless as the day is long. BHP and RIO are rumoured to be considering an amalgamation of their Pilbara businesses which could have some impact on UMC’s prospects of competition for a takeover.
