" If nobody owns the productive assets, nobody will make the asset in the first place."

not true --- you are stuck with the concept of ownership in your head.

It's not easy to get away from it -- let it sink in for a few days or weeks - it takes a while.

And, - yes, you can get someone to make the asset in the first place but, not own it --

    government

all you have to do is to fund the asset - which we already do these things with debt we can never repay - indeed, the yanks just keep printing money - you want something done - you print it - easy.

You have to be at a stage where machines can do it all -

where robots can dig the dirt up and smelt the ores etc. - where robots build those robots and maintain those robots and themselves - then robots manufacture all things and maintain all things -- they do every single thing.

Now - we are nowhere near that yet - but, in 1000 years???????????

well - we might even be there in 50 years - we could certainly be there in 100 years --

but, 1000 years????? ---------- it's impossible to imagine that it is going to be any other way.

So - at a point in history - all you have to do is to get those assets in place ----------- ONCE -- from there on - those assets provide for all human needs - right from the primary resourcing to wiping your bum if you can't physically do it.

It IS possible --- whether it happens or not??? I know not.

As to the culture that has lasted 50k years ------ there is no evidence to suggest that the concept of nil ownership would have changed if they had advanced technologically - it may well have made no difference if they were chucking spears or using iphones - we cannot know that.
