NEW NORTHERN ZONE DRILLED AT OBAN
Curnamona Energy Limited (Curnamona Energy – ASX : CUY, owned 48.2% by
Havilah Resources NL – ASX : HAV) announces that ongoing drilling at its 100%
owned Oban project has confirmed further significant uranium mineralization (grade
thickness > 0.05 m% eU3O8) in an area indicated by historic drillhole data. This new
northern zone has been intersected in at least three holes thusfar (drillholes CEY109,
110 and 118 on the attached map) and remains open to the north beyond drillhole
CEY118. Appreciable associated organic matter, including lignite, supports earlier
interpretations that the location of uranium mineralisation in the blanket sands at
Oban is being controlled by a localized basinal depression.
This is the third area of significant uranium mineralization drilled this year at Oban
and while separate from those to the south (see blue areas on map) it is possible that
more closely spaced infill drilling may establish continuity between all areas. The
amenability of these sands to in situ uranium recovery methods will be tested with the
proposed field leach trial once permitting is obtained.
Curnamona Energy will continue with its current programme of step out drilling on
160 metre spacing in order to determine the lateral extent of uranium mineralization
in the Oban area. Some strategic infill holes will also be drilled to better define the
continuity between the southern, central and northern areas of mineralization outlined
thusfar (shown in blue on the accompanying map).
