Its a consequence of drug test. Both Andrew Johns and Ben Cousins were tested regularly say once a week throughout their careers. Back in the good old days hardly anyone used speed (ice), coke or ecstasy and just used relied on good old fashioned marijuana. But weed stays in you system for ages and smoke one joint today and bingo you will test positive 2 weeks later (and the media will say you were under the influnce lol) But the new drugs (ice eccies and coke) are out of you system in 2-3 days (without any masking agents -see Shane Warne). These 'new' recreational drugs fit perfectly well into a sports star's routine. Play on the weekend, get tested before or after then game, then get high as a kite at the after game party. Back to training fresh as a daisy. Its common as, but with new policies coming in that may change.
