EL, a large majority (it would seem) of investors have their heads well and truly in the sand over this. It's the rate of spread that is most alarming and this is why, in my opinion, certain governments have gone into crisis mode early on, they know we're pretty much deer in the headlights.....Everyone talking about Dow futures, U turn bounce etc....well the real economic impact won't start to play out in the public domain until mid to late March once manufacturing inventory is depleted due to the recent China slowdown. There is talk of factories ramping back up in China but this will only exacerbate the spread, perhaps they weighed up the financial impact vs health impact and feel they can't realistically contain it so send them back to work? Most of these factory workers sleep in dormatory style accommodation which is concerning considering how quickly this is spreading.....It's inevitability going to get much much worse very quickly. Many are shrugging this off as nothing more than a media beat up, just another flu. It will be this attitude that expidites the pandemic....
