Talking of waiting on the sidelines....heres part of an email i was sent last week....


"cash has been rapidly increasing in US Investment Funds to the point where there is now an all time record $US3.4 trillion sitting in investment accounts. When we consider that the previous record cash reserves peaked in 2002 at $US2 trillion, we can clearly see that there is an extraordinary amount of money waiting for the right opportunity to invest. Additionally, with the official interest rate at just 2% in the US, the return on cash is not even covering inflation. Clearly, this money will look for a higher return (ie equities) once the markets stabilise."
