An application could be made under the Northern Australian Infrastructure funds for a $300-500 million loan with the oil as guarantee. Australia wins with on sovereign oil security, Santos and Carnarvon can fast track development as they have funding and shareholders see
a quicker return of value on the SP. other resource companies have already accessed this fund eg Pembroke a coal company for around $200 million. I’m sure other companies are applicants and with oil sovereign issues becoming prominent due to the current Russia - Ukrainian war. It would be in all politicians minds. In addition, gas would also come into the equation to backfill any LNG need for the East Coast or export. Happy to hear others informed comments.
