Wealth is created when someone mines something, farms something or manufactures (or builds) something into something else of a higher value. That wealth is what improves our standard of living and represents the strength of our economy... Taxes are what we pay to bureaucrats so they can provide the social and physical infrastructure for that wealth creation. Bureaucrats, (like bankers & accountants) merely shift around and re-distribute the wealth created by miners, farmers and industries.
WA and Queensland punch way above their weight in terms of wealth creation.
