I am not an expert in this area but I've had a look at the CWE reports and the main differences I can see are:

1) The SHE Protean device makes clean energy from the movement the buoy creates in the tether where as the CWE device is a more traditional approach with the energy created from movement within the buoy. SHE feel that there device has an advantage over traditional wave energy devices because any of six possible wave movements in the buoy can create an energy creating scenario in the tether. I stand to be corrected here and this is IMO only.

2) The CWE project is much more advanced along the development pathway and obviously much closer to possibly obtaining an income stream.

3) It appears to me that the CWE device is much larger and possibly more expensive to manufacture compared with SHE Protean device, again this is IMO only.

I have to declare also that I am a SHE share holder.
