    Do we know the details of that yet? For instance, CS Energy runs Kogan Creek power station, but supplies it with coal mined from its Kogan deposit. By what you said, this would not be subject to RuddTax.

    But another mine which shipped its coal to another power station without owning the station would be subject to RuddTax. Likewise a CSG or UCG producer.

    Take this further... if BHP started steelmaking again, it would not have to pay RuddTax because it was making profit from steel, not from iron ore and coal.

    What about a bauxite miner processing ore into alumina? "We don't have to pay RuddTax, we're making profits from processed alumina, not mining!"

    Clearly it's getting ridiculous. Seems to me the only logical explanation is that power generating companies that make their profit from resources should have to pay RuddTax.

    Or, you know... GET RID OF RUDD.
