Over the weekend the ASX was due to carry out migration activities for its "ASX Trade Refresh" with the system upgrade due to go-live this morning.
"ASX Trade" is the central system that provides all of the functions required for the operation of the market.
"The platform is built on a modern distributed architecture with internal components and customer APIs centred around a high performance messaging bus," project documents explain.
"This includes order entry and amendment, trade generation and trade reporting. It also provides the functionality used by ASX Trading Operations to establish and maintain the trading environment."
The ASX conducted four "dress rehearsals" for the project between late July and October.
The new ASX Trade refresh system was scheduled to allow logins from 2.25am this morning.
