I wouldn't be surprised if TNT's share price suddenly rockets next week on
the back of a high profile news story like this, channel 9 programmes
suddenly taken off air, allegedly by a politically motivated cyber attack
by the Russians. The stock market is irrational, as many here have said.
TNT can announce a well executed acquisition of a cyber company like
Secure Logic who have a strong balance sheet, well established profitability,
decent revenues etc. but the TNT share price subsequently barely registers any change.
But if the footy show gets hacked, all hell breaks loose !
We should perhaps consider that investors now looking for ASX cyber security stocks
with a google search will find TNT at the top of the list, the biggest and the most visible.

w w w . a f r . c o m /Suspected cyber attack hits Nine
Nine Entertainment was hit with major technical difficulties with speculation suggesting the media company was the target of a cyber attack, the effects of which may last beyond Sunday.
The suspected attack impaired Nine Entertainment’s North Sydney headquarters, resulting in Channel 9 being unable to broadcast from the location. Channel 9 is now broadcasting from its Melbourne studios.
The company, which owns The Australian Financial Review, did not confirm the difficulties are the result of a cyber attack.
“Nine is responding to technical issues affecting live broadcasting. At this stage we are working through the impacts across the network and will provide an update as we resolve the systems. NRL, 6pm News Bulletins and our evening schedule will proceed as normal,” a Nine spokesman said.
Upset viewers took to Twitter to question why the NRL Sunday Footy Show was not airing, with the AFL Sunday Footy Show airing from Melbourne in its place. Weekend Today, which typically runs from 7am until 1pm, also did not go to air.
The suspected attack is also disrupting the operations of Nine’s publishing business, with internet access unavailable in its Sydney headquarters while some publishing tools were also down.
Staff were warned to not restart any computers or to turn on any computers switched off, with no timeframe for a fix being provided.
All IMHO, DYOR
