The radioactively labelled carbon is not earth shattering tech and it’s been around for a while. BUT, it’s the tech that surrounds it that breathes new life into the product. New imaging tech can get much better pictures than before - 3D and dynamic, and AI can add to interpretation. This is opening up new uses for it in a range of lung conditions, not just pulmonary embolism, which is what it was originally purposed for.
