Instead of being obsessed with the comparison of the images side by side think about what the images are being used for.
Imagine a room at the hospital filled with emergency fractures, brain bleeds, internal injuries, cancer staging and tumor scans, stroke patients, major internal infections, surgery planning scans etc etc all waiting because the lung imaging patients (everything from PE to Asthma) call dibs on the machine & have to use the CT scanner…just cos the images look pretty…
Doesn’t assist with improved diagnosis or treatment outcomes and we have the nuclear imaging departments technegas machine that does the job very very well…but it’s just more impressive for the doctors to look at when they see them side by side…*chucklesI
Completely understand it sounds counter intuitive, I mean a better image is a better image right?… If you are looking at buying a camera from the shops, and you see one come out sharper and more detailed you are impressed but in medical applications they are not looking at what we are looking at…I mean…have you ever been to an ultrasound/xray/mri??… I can’t tell what I’m looking at…they can….
