cycling deaths bring questions for road users , page-4

I agree those two situations definitely need drivers to be charged with dangerous driving...especially the 1st one that cleaned up 7 cyclists. IMO...the 'blackout' was a cop out lie.

I also don't agree with the news clip making out that motorists are 100% to blame. Images of idiots with no lights, bells, high visibility vests (I 'play' on the road and I use one...along with high visibility on my pants) or mirrors doesn't add weight to a cyclist's argument that they are putting themselves in the best position to be on a road network. Let's face it...1 metre 'exclusion zones' ain't going to cut it. Everyone is probably sick of hearing it...I work in traffic management and spend up to 12 hrs per day on culdesacs in the middle of no where to major freeways...the standard of road use by cyclists, pedestrians and motorists is shocking and I'm surprised we don't have more fatalities.

It's time everyone stopped blaming eachother and takes responsibility to look after their OWN safety.

If you want to do an 80km bike ride as part of a bike club...do it in the middle of nowhere and hire a reputable TM company like ours.

    Keep safe everyone.
