    Thanks kingpins.

Made it into Port Douglas this morning where there was large amounts of people shopping, some supplies are low or unavailable and there's uncertainty of when supplies are likely to get through.

l gather there's still flooding in Mossman and Mowbray / Spring Creek area are inaccessible near Port. Going further north and up the Rex range - Bushy Creek seem to also be inaccessible, large areas beyond that are further impacted by power outages and isolation.

Apparently there are big boulders on the Captain Cook Highway between Oak Beach and Ellis Beach. Damien Meadows the local policeman is saying the highway could be out for at least a couple of days. Reef Unlimited Boats are running a ferry service Cairns - Port Douglas starting tomorrow in the interim. Quicksilver are looking into running a similar service but at the moment are supporting the Defence force.

l've read that there were more than 250 rescues over the past day. Think we can be very grateful that Ergon Electricity Workers and Emergency Services from the south were pre-organised and installed during this weather event.

In this area where events have unfolded over the past week and a half sometimes the kindness of neighbours & strangers makes all the difference.

Not looking good for anyone in Tourism this Christmas either

    Stay safe.
