I know JB disagrees, but I am not bound to any moral code.
Did you really intend to write that just like that?
Pledge suggested or put to me that in his opinion I was a moral crusader - I rejected that (its not how I see myself) but to some extent perhaps I shouldn't have perhaps at long last I'm feeling myself pushed back so much, or rather that the standards of basic decency in the world I'm a part of have so much declined that that I am reluctantly becoming more morally aware and perhaps that is what looking like a moral crusader amounts to to pledge.
There is supposed to be a rule of law. And in theory we are supposed to be equal before that. Though in practice that is extremely problematic.
Most normally socialized people not from abused backgrounds also learn basic moral principles from their parents or teachers or perhaps just from interacting with friends and acquaintances and also choosing not to engage in some other activities (like say torturing kittens or setting fire to strangers on trains or rolling old ladies to steal their possessions because they can't fight off attacks very well) - most of us are moral enough to not want to do those things.
Pledge has said to me on more than one occasion words to the effect of get of the high horse or don't come the high horse stuff with me - but that isn't how I see myself - I see myself as pretty standard moral - ground level stuff - its only when others go down into holes that most people I believe (talking about normal people - normally socialized) would regard as falling below standards - that's not moral high horsing.
Feel free to leave this entirely alone if you wish - but I don't think normal people can wisely start posting they don't have a moral code - not being obliged to follow some one else's - that's different - but if you are not going to take advantage of every opportunity to exploit others because some of those things are such that you wouldn't do them because you yourself would think them wrong - like rolling old ladies to steal from them - then you have a moral code I suggest.
