It's been great fun writing this Cell Press review together with Heather Main and Melissa Carpenter, summarising the current landscape of pluripotent stem cell trials worldwide. Some fun facts we uncovered: More than 1200 patients have been dosed with hPSC products so far and more than 100 billion hPSC-derived cells have been administered to patients in total. We're now not only accumulating data on safety from these products, but are also seeing early reports on efficacy from companies like Neurona Therapeutics, Vertex Pharmaceuticals and BlueRock Therapeutics, among others. Our review also summarises the immunosuppressive regimens used in different trials - a resource which will hopefully be useful to the field in finding some common grounds in future trial design.
