Point 2, that happens with pretty well every stock and every day. It is sensible to pull bids at the end of a session- otherwise you might just forget it and get caught on a poor announcement the following session.
Point 4, this used to puzzle me until I watched a few cases closely and considered it from the point of view of the trader doing it. It is very common. It is easier to see the consequences on a smaller stock. It can gain the user a slightly better price- one pip. Not much- but it would add up over time. Noticed someone do it the other day and thought it was clever.
There is value to be had in researching how the markets and market makers work- how the auction works etc. It helps to be strategic and to get the best price.
