I will be voting yes. The way I look at it is it makes sense for Rio to own this deposit. Rio won’t need to bid for it if the deal is voted down as they could pick it up cheap down the track. IMO Rio will only bid if it has to - ie it’s going into the hands of Miracle.
The risks as I see them are -
The deal gets voted down - FMG could possibly block it on their own ? With Creasy not able to vote that blocks > 50% of votes so FMG with 10% of the remaing 45% (or so ) could possibly block it ? Do we need 50% or 75% of votes for the deal to succeed. Not sure why FMG would block it, maybe to do a deal on the cheap at a later date ?
Other risk is FIRB blocks it - although I believe this is unlikely.
I’m hoping Rio bids but for the reasons above they may feel they don’t have to.
