Respectfully, I don’t deny that CZRs foreign ownership structure is opaque, and one of many reasons to cast doubt on the substance of the deal, and its subsequent approval.
However, if you speak to any corporate transactions lawyer in Australia worth their salt, they will tell you the same thing. Companies like Gilbert + Tobin and Minter Ellison are actively advising their foreign investor clients (from high risk jurisdictions, e.g, China) to steer clear of Aus investment until after the May election as to avoid the “FIRB Risk”
