Watching TV tonight (don't do that much). There was an election style Anti-Abbott ALP ad in prime time. Why waste the money 3 years out? There must be a reason.

And why wouldn't they ALP want a DD? They would likely control both houses and avert an embarassing RC into Unions Corruption.

I'm expecting every trick in the book to destabilise the govt. Starting with the budet bill ine the Senate. They could (quite legitimately IMHO) claim Abbott does not have a mandate for much of the budget and current polls show a contrary desire from the electorate.

Now a DD is the last thing PUP wiull want. For all their huff and bluster, they dont want 6 years of the high life going up in smoke. An enemy of an enemy is my friend. I'm sure Clive remembers exactly what was spoken about with Turnbull on their meeting today.

"Mr Palmer today described Mr Turnbull as a “personal friend” "

I wonder if the price of Palmer's cooperation is a change in leader. Oakshot / Windsor implied as much last term.
