Coonan said going against the ACCC would be unprecidented.
Costello seems to be against the sale at the moment.
Sentiment is against tls getting a descent outcome.
Against that is the arguement that this may be the last chance the government will ever get to sell the it.
Further TLS may not go ahead with the new fiber network.
So what is it going to be - a cheaper telecommunications for all Australians and out of date telecommunications system
OR
up to date communications for all Australians and money in the bank for public programs eg super for public servants via the Future Fund.
I wonder which one would be the biggest vote winner.
A slight increase in access to telecommunications may not be noticed that much by voters.
However better telecommunications, a well managed future fund and a win for shareholders might.
I wonder what percentage of Australians own shares in TLS directly (not via funds)?
