The odds are lengthening towards an arbitration outcome on 31 Jan.
Politicians convey their messages through friendly media and would be happy to kick the can down the road. Hence another 3-6 months demanded
6 months of negotiating have achieved the quartz lease.
On the other hand we now have the royalty increase and the introduction of community oversight.
You couldn't operate a corner shop with community oversight.
Failing a last minute extension the ruling should be read out on Monday morning in Singapore.
Although, most settlements do occur at the door of the court, five minutes prior to the court session.
It could be a high stakes game of chicken.
