Reading between the lines, the Thais seem to be asserting a claim that they have met the terms of whatever negotiation framework was in place with the Company, and KCN should now relinquish their claims under TAFTA. Meanwhile, the Company has been totally silent in response (apart from announcing some of the Thai concessions). What's their next move?
I think it would be unfortunate if Ross accepted the terms because there's a lot missing from what the sneaky Thais are offering. Having said that, it must be heart breaking for the old man to surrender the mine (his life's work) and take this to the Tribunal. Such a delicate and high-stakes moment in the negotiations! While I'm happy to be on the sidelines for now, I nevertheless find it an enthralling spectacle!
