    Maybe get your brother to get a flintstones DVD and take a laptop to the hospital so he can watch it,
    I bought my step father a little portable radio with headphones so he could listen to the radio station while in hospital without making noise for the other patients it worked out well.
    Yer it is rough when they get old but just got to keep them in comfort and out of the boredom.
