Dahn Theories, page-23

Evening all, first time poster,
A couple of points regarding Jeff Dahn, and Mark Obrovac. As we know both lead research teams at Dalhousie university, but one doesn't report to the other, and the discoveries and research are the researchers own.

Both Jeff Dahn's and Mark Obrovac's teams research relates to Lithium technology, but from a slightly different perspective. From reading the dh uni website, it appears that Dahn's team is focused on the physics of battery chemistry - theoretical if you like, where Obrovac's team is focused on more practical materials science of battery production - specifically for electrical vehicles.

As Dahn's lab is funded by Tesla, any discoveries are patentable by Tesla, and similarly with Obrovac and Novonix.

So from an appointment of Dahn as scientific advisor - his role won't be spilling the Tesla patent beans or any such thing, but only a consultative role (perhaps in actually bring Obrovac's patents to production). I don't see any conflict of interest, or any necessary buyout/merger on the horizon.
