What I'm getting at is that you need liquidity to have a appreciating SP. You just can't have it all one way. Imagine if all the stock was held by long-term investors.

For example: Just say you had 5 people that wanted to buy one of 10 houses in a street but none of the home-owners in that street wanted to sell.

Wouldn't the buyers then move onto the next street?

What would those houses then be worth?

That's why you need to have a balance between Investors and Traders. You need to keep people interested in PIE so that the SP keeps moving..... up!
