Stranger things happen in this Industry my friend. One only has to look at what a good project that gets divested can do for ones share price. Now granted this example I'm going to give is on a whole different level , but you never know how the market is going to view a venture.
So Newmont under its divestiture program sells the Ontario Porcupine mine for $425 million in cash and some shares as well to Discovery Silver Corp.
At the time the deal was announced at end of January 2025 , Discovery shares were around 92 cents and the company was valued at approximately CAD $1 Billion. Its SP is now C$2.66 after being as high as C$2.89 and its current market cap value is CAD $2.11 Billion and up over 200% since the deal was announced. Note DSV was primarily a Silver producer and now has a producing Gold Mine as well. Not bad eh .....
