I know the Great Ron Barassi repeated a version of this quote in his coaching relationships with his players and management. as have many others including Mark Zuckerberg who said " The biggest risk is not taking any risk ...., and the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is NOT taking risks "

I guess you can apply that anyway you like when it comes to what we do as investors. But clearly if you want to use gambling parlance and if anything has shown us in the last week or so is that one of the strength in this business lies in clearly knowing when to HOLD.....or when NOT to fold. Put another way is that you must learn to recognize when to let your profits run , and when to trim your exposure to minimize any losses.

So this poster is only telling investors on this forum one tiny aspect of markets and spec stocks. Best thing to do if you take notice to those sorts of throw away statements is to read more books on investing , and do more research.
