While for 42 foot seems the obvious choice, if Rottnest is you destination then I would recommend the 35. The reason being is it gives you access to more moorings.
The 35 will only enable you to use grey discs and above (and squeeze onto a green if no one is looking), while the 42 will push you up to only purple and over.
