It'd be interesting to get someone into this post that either works in, or has worked in DEMIRs.
I actually don't know how they go about prioritising their application pipeline, and at worst, there is no prioritisation program. I doubt that though.
The WA government rely on the effective functioning of DEMIRs for their budgetary income (ie royalties).
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, I'm going to raise this with some AFR journos to do a bit of poking around to see what goes. A timeline of 541 days to get an app approved is the sort of bureaucratic nonsense that is stalling this country's financial success.
In the meantime, don't despair. RDN is sitting on a goldmine (sorry, lithium mine) and rather perversely, this delay may be a blessing in disguise whilst the lithium price curve turns! And turm it will, I promise you. Anyone who has been around commodity markets as long as me understands the cyclical ebbs and flows. Patience is your friend in this game.
