Oh they are interested - trust me.
ALB and SQM (which has stated that they want more), will be VERY KEEN after the recent 7.4 earthquake that @anatol has pointed out that the epicentre is only 70km from the desalination ponds.
My guess is that the staff at both HQ's are flat out scrambling to form a game plan - regardless of the fate of the ponds. Because they have always been on the nose with the locals because of their drinking water and now this just focuses the spot light on the issues even brighter.
Even RIO is up against it in Serbia.
What has this to do with RDN? Probably more than we realise and in a word, "competition" for resources.
