That reminded me of a story.
Casey Chambers grew up in the WA bush. Her whole family lived outback trapping foxes back when the pelts were marketable.
They were not the only ones either.
The only reason they quit (at the time), was the bottom fell out of the fur trade, with the bleedin hearts lamenting the poor animals welfare.
So, my guess is the foxes are still there. (link)
