About that rocking chair, when a place comes up in a show or the news, whether Australia or Internationally, I often remark, "We've been there", which not many have that experience. Eg, Warwick hotel Fiji ring any bells?
However, consider the side benefits of that available time;....
1) It keeps me off the street corners selling and buying drugs (Panadol - it's been in the news lately, so think about the cash possibilities)
2) It supports my literacy skills
3) It teaches an old dog new tricks
4) It keeps me up to date with current affairs (I often know more about the story presented than the TV anchor person does)
5) My children still ask questions and the grandchildren ask advice
6) Affords time to slice through and collect relevant media data, and offer up here with highlights to help with visual digestion (in areas that I feel competent - doesn't mean I am, just that I am comfortable in that position)
There are heaps of folks on HC that are far more talented than I, but I try and feel that one hand washes the other, so - win, win.
